Our Approach

Journey Home serves young men who have faced challenges in community placement and typically experience extended stays in other settings. Using the ARC (Attachment, Regulation, Competency) trauma-informed framework, we focus on:

  • Building self-regulation capabilities
  • Developing core competencies
  • Providing individualized intensive services
  • Improving relationships with family and community
  • Maximizing personal strengths

Our comprehensive model addresses the needs of youth who require additional support before they can successfully return to community-based living arrangements.

Clinical Services

Our clinical team delivers strength-based, trauma-informed treatment using diverse modalities tailored to each youth's specific needs. Our approach is:

  • Family-driven
  • Youth-guided
  • Community-focused

On-site clinicians work closely with each young man to explore his potential, guiding him through self-discovery while helping him achieve individualized treatment goals.

Academic Support

We collaborate directly with the Attleboro School Department to ensure each youth has an appropriate educational plan and setting, including:

  • Neighborhood school attendance options
  • Day program placement when appropriate
  • GED program support
  • Educational advocacy
  • Discharge planning with educational consultants

Competency Building

Journey Home believes treatment extends beyond symptom reduction to include building self-esteem through competency development. We foster community relationships that help youth develop a positive sense of self through:

  • Sports clubs participation
  • Internship opportunities
  • Competitive activities
  • Music and art lessons
  • Employment opportunities
  • Youth-identified meaningful activities

Focus on Wellness

We support each young man in discovering his unique sense of self by focusing on overall wellness. Our approach includes:

  • Physical activity opportunities both on-site and in the community
  • Support for spiritual wellness
  • Nutrition education through collaborative meal planning and preparation
  • Empowerment through healthy lifestyle choices
  • Individualized success planning

Through our holistic wellness approach, we help youth increase their self-esteem and competencies within a healthy living environment designed for personal growth.
