Littleton Academy is a therapeutic residential school providing comprehensive clinical treatment and education to latency age children who have a history of complex trauma and significant behavioral/mental health issues and learning difficulties.
At Littleton Academy, students attend our on-site, year-round school with a full day of academic instruction. Our education program features small classes that blend cooperative, hands-on learning with individualized instruction. Teachers provide clinically-informed classroom support tailored to each student's emotional needs and learning style.
Beyond the traditional curriculum, we offer enrichment through expressive arts, health and fitness, music, and environmental education. Our campus spans two and a half acres, featuring a year-round outdoor basketball court, large play area, and multipurpose recreation room/gymnasium.
Our recreational program is well-equipped with both indoor resources (arts & crafts supplies, board games, card games, a comprehensive library, and age-appropriate video games, movies, and music) and outdoor equipment (sports gear, scooters, and bicycles). At Littleton, we emphasize participating and enjoying all activities, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
Littleton Academy provides individual and family therapy that supports our students in identifying their strengths and utilizing them daily. The program’s primary treatment framework is based on the ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) model, which focuses on helping individuals develop internal core strengths, and build strong, positive attachment, self-regulation, and competency skills.
We also offer Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, Therapy Dogs, and other unique therapy methods, all of which have proven effective in the treatment of many disorders, including trauma-related struggles.
