Services Offered

Diagnostic Assessment

A master's-level clinician completes a comprehensive assessment with the child and their caregiver, considering the impact of trauma and chronic stress on individuals and families.

Evidence-Based Treatment

We use the Attachment, Self-Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework, which the NCTSN recognizes as a promising practice. Interventions are tailored to each client's needs and may include individual therapy for children, caregiver education, and parent-child sessions. All JRI clinicians are trained in the ARC framework.

Medication Management

We have a Board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist specializing in children's mental health available on-site. Your clinician will collaborate with your prescriber to ensure the best treatment plan for your needs.

For Young Children

If appropriate, a master's-level clinician will provide play therapy. In non-directive or child-centered play therapy, the child leads the play and controls how they spend their time in session. The play therapist offers unconditional positive regard, support, and empathy. In directive-play therapy, the clinician uses the child's first language (play) to address specific skills such as problem-solving, frustration tolerance, and positive engagement within the relationship.

Massachusetts Impaired Driving Program (MIDP)

The Massachusetts Impaired Driving Program (MIDP), offered through JRI in Taunton, MA, provides individuals charged with a first-time impaired driving offense a structured and supportive opportunity to reflect, learn, and make positive changes. Participation is court-mandated, and the program is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and overseen by the Department of Public Health and the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services.

MIDP is designed to increase awareness of the risks associated with impaired driving while supporting accountability, personal responsibility, and safer decision-making. Through education, discussion, and reflection, participants gain insight into their behavior and its impact on themselves, their families, and the community. Participant confidentiality is protected, with limited communication to the referring court regarding attendance and program completion as required by law.

Program Content

Participants complete 38 hours of programming, typically over a 16-week period, which includes:

  • One individual intake assessment

  • Sixteen weekly psychoeducational group sessions

  • A mid-point progress review

  • Victim impact awareness programming

  • Participation in community-based self-help meetings

  • One individual discharge (exit) session

All services are delivered via telehealth, allowing participants to engage in a confidential and accessible group setting. Participants must have access to reliable technology and a private space, and successful completion requires consistent attendance, active participation, and completion of all assignments to meet court expectations.
