Opioid Epidemic Causes Surge in Need for Brockton Foster Parents

The Brockton Enterprise recently published an article about the need for foster parents in southeastern Massachusetts.

“A tremendous demand for foster care, particularly in Southeastern Massachusetts, is another effect of our opioid epidemic here,” Robert Costa, the program director for JRI’s Comprehensive Foster Care program, said in a statement. “Many of the children that come to us have been traumatized at a young age and are in dire need of a loving support system to help them cope and heal.”

JRI NAMES DAVE DORVILIER PROGRAM DIRECTOR OF YOUTHHARBORS

JRI, a provider of trauma-informed care to children and families in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, has named Dave Dorvilier Program Director of YouthHarbors.  The YouthHarbors program partners with local schools to provide homeless and unaccompanied high school students with support in the areas of housing, education, employment, health and independent living skill development so that each can focus on his or her education, rather than survival.

Bisser Dokov named CFO at JRI

JRI, a provider of trauma-informed care to children and families in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, has appointed Bisser Dokov as Chief Financial Officer.

Dokov, a resident of Brookline, joined JRI in 1996 as an assistant accountant and was promoted into finance positions of increasing responsibility at JRI over the past 20 years. Most recently, Dokov held the position of budget director, where he was responsible for managing budget allocations, expenditures and fund balances, and preparing the company’s annual financial filings.

Evaluation of the Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC) Framework for the Treatment of Complex Trauma in Children 

JRI recently completed data collection for the first ever randomized control trial (RCT) of the Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) framework. This study examines the effectiveness of 24 sessions of ARC treatment versus treatment as usual for a range of clinical and functional child and caregiver outcomes in community based mental health clinics across metro Boston.

Rachel received her Bachelors degree in psychology and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Bridgewater State University. She was promoted in July 2005 to Family Networks Program Director where she closely worked with the Department of Children Families for 10 years ensuring that children and families received the highest quality of individualized services ranging from community based through residential care.
