Rediscovery House

Rediscovery is a therapeutic based group home with a focus on independent living skill building for males between ages 16-21. Rediscovery believes that all youth should have access to learning and developing independent living skills, regardless of their discharge plan once out of adolescent care. We strive to be inclusive, embrace diversity, foster a sense of community and support long-term connections to prepare youth for increased independence and a successful transition into adulthood.

About Us

Caregivers who have the tools necessary to be supportive and offer empowering tactics to increase chances of youth success are on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Rediscovery provides a stable, safe, and supportive home-like environment for young people, while also providing opportunities for growth to further their potential and exposure to real-life experiences. Rediscovery believes every young person deserves the opportunity to learn the skills needed for independent living, regardless of their future housing or care arrangements. Our caregivers have the tools.

Our advanced Clinical team and staff support individual goals created with and by the youth with the hope that youth will exit the foster care system equipped with skills, permanent connections, and the ability to engage in their community. All of our activities use the ARC framework and are aimed at supporting self-sufficiency and building competency for the youth. and completing adult service applications such as DMH and DDS, and managing the process. All youth are encouraged to access several outpatient clinics for individual therapy with the hope that they can maintain that relationship post-discharge.

Our Alumni program allows each alumnus to access our non-housing services, as they need them after leaving Rediscovery. This connection to our alumni allows us to ensure that our clients achieve continued success after their departure.

Alternative Education

Graduating from high school can be a life-changing experience, just as it can be difficult for some youth who are undergoing transitions in their lives and who have had gaps in their education due to placement changes while being in the foster care system. Youth are always included in the conversation around school and determine what makes sense for their future. Rediscovery supports youth in achieving success in all levels of school from traditional high school to HiSet, and post-high school opportunities.

Financial Competence

Rediscovery provides education around basic and advanced money and credit management. This includes supporting youth in creating a bank account, completing yearly tax returns with youth, and exploring the world of credit so that youth are able to make the best money decisions for their future.

Vital Opportunities

Using therapeutic interventions developed by our use of the ARC framework we believe in providing opportunities for youth to develop job readiness skills, obtain all vital documentation including a state ID, support youth in driving by acquiring a learner’s permit, in-house driving lessons, and obtaining a Driver’s License.

Continuum of Care

Rediscovery identifies discharge plans as soon as youth intake and goals are developed in support of those future discharge plans. Rediscovery supports a continuum of care to ensure a successful discharge tailored to each youth by collaborating with the Independent Living Program in JRI and completing adult service applications such as DMH and DDS, and managing the process. All youth are encouraged to access several outpatient clinics for individual therapy with the hope that they can maintain that relationship post-discharge. Teen Parenting Program
Teen parents are referred to Teen Parenting Programs by DTA. If you have a DTA worker please reach out to them. If you do not have a DTA worker please follow the below instructions. 

How to Get a DTA Worker in Massachusetts
If you need to speak with a Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) worker — whether for benefits, SNAP Path to Work, or employment services — there are several ways to connect with them.

1. Call the DTA Assistance Line
      Phone: (877) 382‑2363
      Hours: 8:15 A.M. – 4:45 P.M.
      This is the main line for general DTA inquiries, but note that DTA has been experiencing high call volumes and may hang up on some calls due to staffing shortages MassLegalHelp.

2. Use DTA Connect
      Visit the DTA Connect website to report changes, view notices, and get updates.
      You can also use the DTA Connect mobile app to manage your account and communicate with staff Mass.gov.

3. Contact Your Local DTA Office
     Find your local office’s phone number in the DTA office directory or by calling the Assistance Line. Go in person during business hours for in-person interviews or to speak directly with a caseworker MassLegalHelp.
 
IRTPS
Referrals for IRTPs come from Inpatient Psychiatric Facilities, and services are funded through the Department of Mental Health. Please connect with your referring physiatrist or inpatient provider.
Employment Verification
JRI has partnered with EmpInfo to provide all verifiers (lender, bank, mortgage company, etc) with employment verifications through a fast and secure connection!

1. Verifier visits www.empinfo.com or 1-800-274-9694
2. Verifier follows process to register by selecting “verify now”
3. After registration is complete, verifier can obtain verification by entering the following details in the EmpInfo portal:
- Company Name: Justice Resource Institute, Inc.
- Social Security Number
- Authorization Code (if verifying income, you must obtain an
Authorization Code directly from the employee).
4. Verification of employment is immediate! If you run into any issues or need further assistance, please contact EmpInfo directly at 1-800-274-9694.
