Understanding the Intersection of Culture and Medicine

In this session we discuss the ways that cultural experiences affect people’s relationships with health care and medicine, including their interactions with health care in their family life growing up. We review a number of issues that can arise when there are cultural differences between patients and care providers and how to be an effective advocate for your clients and liaison with their medical teams.
