Educational Opportunities for JRI Employees

JRI is highly invested in continually educating and developing our leaders and staff. We identify, nurture, and promote excellence at all levels of management. We are confident that our educational opportunities and partnerships help enhance service quality and contribute to staff success.

Master's Degree Opportunities

JRI has partnerships with the following colleges and universities to support staff interested in obtaining their Master's Degree:

JRI is working in partnership with these colleges to support scholarship awardees on their internship, work time, and other factors to help students succeed in this program.

 

Bachelor's Degree Opportunities

JRI and William James College have partnered together to provide the opportunity for JRI staff to obtain their Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Human Services.  This program is a 3 year work friendly degree program that is a hybrid of online learning and classroom learning (one to two Saturdays a month).  There are also significant opportunities for JRI employment time/training time to count as lived experience, covering several of the class requirements.

JRI also has a partnership with Bridgewater State University to provide JRI employees with support and internship opportunities for those pursuing their BSW at BSU.

Associate Degree Opportunities

JRI has partnered with Bristol Community College (BCC), Mass Bay Community College, and William James College to help JRI staff who have no experience with college attendance start on their Associate Degree. BCC and Mass Bay provide a number of tracks including liberal arts, psychology/sociology, and human service - and they have additional scholarship opportunities for JRI staff.

 

Tuition Reimbursement (30+ Hours Per Week)

JRI employees who are in good standing will be eligible for up to $1,350 of reimbursement for tuition for up to three courses per calendar year (maximum of $4,000 per calendar year) at accredited college or university.

 

Tuition Remission

JRI employees are eligible for the Tuition Remission program.  The program offers free tuition for day-time regular school year undergraduate courses at state colleges and universities, including state and community colleges.  This is on a space available basis and is subject to other terms and conditions.

Rachel has been a part of the JRI team since January, 2000. For over 20 years, Rachel has been working in the field of human services assisting families with accessing and navigating services. Rachel received her Bachelors degree in psychology and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Bridgewater State University. She was promoted in July 2005 to Family Networks Program Director where she closely worked with the Department of Children Families for 10 years ensuring that children and families received the highest quality of individualized services ranging from community based through residential care. Rachel is very dedicated to helping the individuals she works with and is committed to improving the lives of children and families. Rachel’s passion for creative service programming inspires her in her role as JRI Service Navigator.
