Hear From a William James College Graduates

"A former employee encouraged me to apply. I was hesitant at first. However, I reflected on the families that we work with. They deserve to have a clinician that looks like them, shares the same or a similar language and can see past cultural concerns.

The experience gained from WJC was one of respect, fighting for social justice and being humbled. I was an immigrant who was not born here and struggled to learn the language and navigate a system that told me I would be nothing. JRI has lit the flame and kept it burning for me, even during those dark moments when I doubted myself. I have a purpose and a career."

Bridgewater State University

JRI partnered with Bridgewater State University (BSU) to create accessible, affordable educational opportunities for our staff and to offer BSU students career paths in the mental health field.

Our partnership with BSU aligns closely with JRI’s mission, especially through collaborations with the BSU School of Social Work, Substance Use certification programs, and events at the Martin Richard Institute of Social Justice.

Bachelor’s in Social Work (BSW) and Master’s in Social Work (MSW)

These programs offer flexible options, including full-time and part-time, with various class schedules and diverse faculty.

Financial Support: For BSW, JRI reimburses up to $4,000 per calendar year, covering up to 3 courses annually. For MSW, JRI offers a 1/3 scholarship, making it more affordable to advance your career. Bridgewater State University also has a partnership with Bristol Community College.

Master’s in Social Work (MSW) Scholarship

You may qualify for the 1/3 scholarship, which makes advanced education more accessible. Here's how it works:

  • JRI contributes 1/3 of the tuition cost
  • Bridgewater State University (BSU) covers another 1/3
  • The employee is responsible for the remaining 1/3

This approach significantly reduces the financial burden on our employees, making it easier for them to pursue their MSW and advance their careers in social work.

  • "Over the last two years, I have been lucky to work with JRI. I absolutely fell in love with the work here, as well as the frameworks of ARC and trauma-informed care. JRI provides an immense amount of support to communities in MA, CT, and RI, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of a company that is so widespread. The mission and vision of JRI are directly aligned with my own, and for that, I am grateful and felt personally connected to JRI from the beginning. When I applied for grad school last year, I did not expect just how much more JRI would help me with my educational experience. Not only is JRI assisting with my professional development but also providing me an opportunity to continue working for them throughout the program. I very much am looking forward to continuing to build myself personally and professionally in my career here at JRI."

  • "JRI’s flexibility and tuition reimbursement allowed me to pursue my Master’s degree while working full-time. Without the emotional and financial support from JRI, that long-term goal may not have been achieved. Bridgewater State University’s MPA program was a perfect fit for me both personally and professionally. The professors really cared and got to know you as a person. The times and locations of classes were flexible to meet the schedules of working individuals."
