Do you have a question about JRI services?
JRI, a provider of trauma-informed care to children and families in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, has named Dave Dorvilier Program Director of YouthHarbors. The YouthHarbors program partners with local schools to provide homeless and unaccompanied high school students with support in the areas of housing, education, employment, health and independent living skill development so that each can focus on his or her education, rather than survival.
Dorvilier, a Brighton resident, joined the JRI team in 2013 as a clinical coordinator for Rediscovery, a division of JRI, operating a pre-independent living, community-based group home for adolescent males ages 16-22 who are preparing to transition to independence. Dorvilier has also held positions as the co-director of JRI’s Trauma Drama program and clinical supervisor and in-home therapist for JRI’s MetroWest Community Based Services.
“Dave’s clinical background working with adolescents who have experience trauma prepares him well to be program director of YouthHarbors,” said Andy Pond, President and CEO of JRI. “With Dave’s leadership, YouthHarbors will continue to grow, helping some of the most vulnerable youth overcome challenging circumstances and graduate high school.”
“YouthHarbors plays a crucial role in so many homeless teens’ lives,” said Dorvilier. “I am looking forward to working alongside a team of dedicated professionals who are just as passionate as I am about helping these teens who are struggling to graduate.”
Dorvilier holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Social Work in Mental Health from Boston College.
