Tania Vitorino has been promoted to senior division director of JRI’s Community-Based Services Division (CBS).

In addition to the CBS programs she currently oversees in Yarmouth Port, New Bedford, and Jamaica Plain, she will now oversee the Children's Friend & Family Services division’s CBS programs in Gloucester, Salem, Lynn and Lawrence. 

A licensed independent clinical social worker, Vitorino will be responsible for ensuring adherence to best practices and quality of care, overseeing the monitoring of the Joint Commission Accreditation process and ensuring adherence to state and federal mandates related to client service and electronic health records. She also will be responsible for preparing for accreditation of JRI programs’ behavioral health homes.

Vitorino began her career at JRI in 2006 as a residential specialist in the Southeast Area Regional Resource Center. She supervised the successful start-up of the Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative (CBHI) Cape & Islands Community Service Agency (CSA). She received advanced Wraparound Train-the-Trainer Certification through Vroon VanDenBerg LLP, an international consulting company created to improve systems of care through the use of the Wraparound Approach.

She was promoted to director of the Cape CSA and oversaw the ongoing success of both the Dimock and Cape CSAs, where her work and quality management processes and standards were adopted across many Southeast CBS Division programs. Those include the 5 Southeast Department of Mental Health Total Achievement Programs for children and families, as well as In-Home Behavioral Services and Cape CBS programming. 

Vitorino was born in Portugal and immigrated to the United States when she was 5 and became a naturalized citizen, fluent in both Portuguese and English.
