Career Pathways Training with Job Placement Opportunities in Healthcare 

 

Training Overview 

  • FREE training for all participants 

  • Training Start Date: October 6, 2025 

  • Training Schedule: Monday - Friday 10-11:30AM  

  • Includes 4 Weeks of Pre-Employment Training with STRIVE Boston and Job Placement assistance is provided.  

 

Job Placement 

  • Individualized job placement services at hospital employers in the Boston area upon successful completion of training program 

  • Starting pay rate: $18.20 per/hour

Brigham and Women’s Hospital has partnered with STRIVE.  In this training process, Brigham’s is providing healthcare employment opportunities to the neighborhoods they serve. STRIVE provides recruitment, training and the right people ready to be successful employees.

What this training involves:

  • 4 weeks Pre-employment Training
  • 90 days on the job training
  • Full time employment

*Opportunities also available in surrounding Boston area hospitals.

What You Will Learn in a STRIVE Neighborhood Jobs Program

In the STRIVE Neighborhood Jobs program, you will learn a lot of useful things to navigate the corporate workplace including;

  • Attitudinal Training
  • Resume & Cover Letter Building
  • Professional Development Training
  • Math and Reading Assessment (TABE Testing)
  • Mock Interview Techniques
  • Financial literacy and Budgeting techniques

 

Program Eligibility

  • Ability to read, write and understand English
  • Must have a desire to start a career working in a hospital setting
  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent required, must be 18+ years
  • Applicants must be vaccinated (COVID-19 vaccine included)
  • Applicants are required to successfully complete CORI & SORI background checks
  • Applicants must commit to completing our 4 Week pre-employment Training
  • Must reside within the city of Boston

Do you have a question about JRI services?

Rachel has been a part of the JRI team since January, 2000. For over 20 years, Rachel has been working in the field of human services assisting families with accessing and navigating services. Rachel received her Bachelors degree in psychology and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Bridgewater State University. She was promoted in July 2005 to Family Networks Program Director where she closely worked with the Department of Children Families for 10 years ensuring that children and families received the highest quality of individualized services ranging from community based through residential care. Rachel is very dedicated to helping the individuals she works with and is committed to improving the lives of children and families. Rachel’s passion for creative service programming inspires her in her role as JRI Service Navigator.
