Anchor Academy Student Spotlight

When students enroll at Anchor Academy, we look well beyond their past difficulties and struggles, and we are able to give each student a fresh start. This past week, we were reminded of this aspect of our school after receiving a visit from one of our recent graduates.

When Josh enrolled in Anchor Academy, his ultimate goal was to join the Marines. This past year, Josh achieved that goal.

Jenese Brownhill speaks on Youth Violence

With rising incidents of juvenile crime, including a spate of youth-involved shootings and firearms arrests, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has announced the creation of a new city task force aimed at preventing youth violence and addressing the trauma of victimized individuals, families and communities.

Jenese Brownhill, Director of JRI's Juvenile Justice Division was recently interviewed for this story pertaining to the task force on youth violence.

The opioid epidemic has increased the demand for effective recovery services, and Justice Resource Institute’s Mary Chao is leading the organization’s training program for clinicians and other staff members to aid them in helping clients recover.

Monkeypox Vaccine made available

Rachel has been a part of the JRI team since January, 2000. For over 20 years, Rachel has been working in the field of human services assisting families with accessing and navigating services. Rachel received her Bachelors degree in psychology and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Bridgewater State University. She was promoted in July 2005 to Family Networks Program Director where she closely worked with the Department of Children Families for 10 years ensuring that children and families received the highest quality of individualized services ranging from community based through residential care. Rachel is very dedicated to helping the individuals she works with and is committed to improving the lives of children and families. Rachel’s passion for creative service programming inspires her in her role as JRI Service Navigator.
