Kari Beserra, LMHC

Kari Beserra, LMHC, is Chief Operating Officer for JRI.  In this role, Kari works closely with JRI’s leadership team to execute our strategy and vision while fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.   Kari also oversees many of the central departments in the agency, including Training, Staff Development, and Quality Management.

Mia DeMarco, MPA

Mia began working in the human service field in 1992 as a Direct Care Staff for JRI. She received her MPA from Suffolk University and completed the Executive Education Program at Harvard University.

Foster Care

Our foster care program is rooted in the principle that every child deserves to feel safe, to be nurtured, and to thrive. Our foster families and staff are committed to maximizing each child's potential within our stable and loving foster homes.

Southeast Behavioral Health Center

The Southeast Behavioral Health Center is a Joint Commission-Accredited Clinic providing comprehensive assessment and treatment to individuals and families of all ages. In addition, the Southeast Behavioral Health Center provides specialized services to young children and their families with trauma histories. The program operates in conjunction with the Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation and Training Program (ECTC).

Community Service Agency (CSA)

The Community Service Agencies are designed to facilitate access to and ensure coordination of care for youth with serious emotional disturbance (SED) who require or are already utilizing multiple services or are involved with multiple child-serving systems (e.g., child welfare, special education, juvenile justice, mental health) and their families. JRI is the Community Service Agency (CSA) for 4 areas: Cape Cod & the Islands, Lawrence CSA, Lynn CSA and the Dimock Area, which covers Jamaica Plain, Allston, Brighton, Roxbury, and Brookline.

Rachel has been a part of the JRI team since January, 2000. For over 20 years, Rachel has been working in the field of human services assisting families with accessing and navigating services. Rachel received her Bachelors degree in psychology and Masters Degree in Public Administration from Bridgewater State University. She was promoted in July 2005 to Family Networks Program Director where she closely worked with the Department of Children Families for 10 years ensuring that children and families received the highest quality of individualized services ranging from community based through residential care. Rachel is very dedicated to helping the individuals she works with and is committed to improving the lives of children and families. Rachel’s passion for creative service programming inspires her in her role as JRI Service Navigator.
